One brave girl!
Shantell Martin, a London artist based in New York, shares her views about change and entrepreneurship in a 99U interview.
For a long time I've been following 99U articles, I have even read a couple of their books and I have found a lot of motivation to move forward and think differently.
Today I was caught by one of their articles, it happened to be an interview about Shantell Martin, an artist from London. What I thought was amazing, and the reason why I'm sharing this is that while I was reading the article, my mind was racing through ideas and ways to push my projects and future goals. That's truly inspirational!
I enjoyed her idea of reinvention, which is basically: if you are too comfortable, change! And it could be a big change, like moving from London to Japan, or a small one, such as moving from drawing with a thick marker to a fine-point pen.
So how do you know when is the right time to change?
It is something that you feel and then you either ignore that or you’ve heard yourself enough that you have to take it seriously. I don’t think you arrive there, it finds you. It finds you and you know that you’re there because you resist it at first.
Here's a video of a presentation she did at Poptech, talking about her life story:
